AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT
Turned walnut, dark glass
The base is solid walnut, turned and oiled. The globe itself is deep 'Librarian's Midnight' glass — dark enough to disappear into an evening room until a country burns through it.
INDIVIDUALLY ADDRESSABLE LEDS
One light per place
No backlight wash. Every country on the globe — every state on the board — has its own LED with two calibrated levels: a dim ember for wishes, full gold for places you've stood.
PER-REGION CHANNELS
Wired border to border
Behind the panel, a channel runs to every cell — laser-cut layers keep each region's light inside its own borders, so Colorado glowing never bleeds into Kansas.

The desk frame goes first — smallest board, fastest to manufacture, and the best way to prove the sync at scale.
